Belly dance is a performing art and, as in all professional performing arts fields, preparation comes with a high price tag. A quality, professional belly dancer will have spent thousands of dollars on dance training, continuing dance education, costumes, accessories, make-up, props, music, photographs, business cards and brochures, a website, and advertising over the course of her career. A professional costume alone averages around $500 and up. Although the cost for a show or teaching party may seem high for a relatively short time, you are paying for all the things that make it possible for the dancer to provide the quality entertainment that you are seeking.
Standard Show A 20 minute performance to recorded music (which I provide) includes the following:
Specialty props such as cane and sword are extra. Musicians are also extra. For parties that are booked more than 2 weeks in advance, a 50% deposit payable by check or money order is required to secure the date. Please contact me for a price quote.
Learn to Belly Dance Party My workshop, BellyDance for EveryBODY, is very popular for wedding showers, birthday parties, yoga centers, and women's group gatherings. In this workshop, I teach basic belly dance movements of the arms, hands, torso and hips, and provide hip scarves for use by up to 20 participants. For this option, I do not wear a costume. Please see teaching venues for places where I have taught workshops. For parties that are booked more than 2 weeks in advance, a 50% deposit payable by check or money order is required to secure the date. Please contact me for a price quote.
